Google’s original design of this emoji is inspired by its Emoji Kitchen mashup of two 😳 Flushed Face emojis, though it omits the raised eyebrows found in its Emoji Kitchen counterpart.
Distorted Face was approved in 2025 and added to Unicode 17.0 in September.
